Facility Type: Public School System
Pay Rate: $45 per hour
Start Date: August
Contract Length: 8-month school year
Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday | 7.5-hour days
What You’ll Be Doing as a Special Education Teacher: As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
Develop and implement top-quality IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
Track student progress and adjust instruction for maximum success
Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers
Create an inclusive classroom with differentiated instruction
Participate in IEP meetings, Eligibility Determinations, and behavior plan development
Use best practices in education for students with diverse learning needs
Lead with compassion, creativity, and commitment to student growth
Engage in professional development to sharpen your skills
Ensure compliance with IDEA, district policies, and procedural safeguards
Help students with disabilities achieve mastery of Florida state standards
Requirements for the Special Education Teacher Role:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
Highly Qualified in core content area(s), as applicable
Strong working knowledge of IEPs, behavior plans, and educational assessments
Passion for Special Education and student empowerment
