We have an immediate opening for reliable cooks for 13 week contracts at a Nursing Home in Bennington, VT. 8 hour shifts from 7a - 3:30p shift with the following requirements:

Specialty: Geriatrics
Location: Bennington, VT
Facility type: Nursing Home
Pay Rate: $21/hr
Start Date:  9/27/2024
Assignment Type: 13 Week Contract
Shift/Hours: 7a – 3:30p (Must be available on weekends)

Duties Include:
  • Routine Prepare ingredients: Follow prep lists created by chefs, wash, cut, and prepare food and ingredients, and arrange salads
  • Label and stock ingredients: Label food items and store them in the correct place on shelves so they are organized and easy to access
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings: Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare kitchen tools: Prepare all the kitchen tools necessary for cooking and cleaning
  • Maintain a clean kitchen: Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, take out the trash, and clear up messes
  • Ensure proper storage: Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with guidelines: Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, and adhere to all relevant safety rules
  • Assist chefs: Respond to the needs of chefs and other cooking staff, and assist with various tasks
  • Perform other duties: Perform basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces or parboiling food, and make simple dishes like sauces or side dishes
Qualifications
  • No specific education or experience required.
  • Preferred at least one (1) year of experience as a cook in a health care or other institutional setting.
