Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Groundskeeper for a Temp to Perm position at a Nursing Home in Bennington, VT.  This role involves landscaping, minor repairs, seasonal upkeep, and ensuring that all exterior areas are clean and well-kept. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working outdoors in all types of weather.  40hrs per week. Starting with a 7a – 3p shift with the following requirements:

Pay Rate: $21/hr
Start Date:  ASAP
Assignment Type: Temp to Perm
Shift/Hours: Day shift - Monday – Friday (Must be available on weekends)

Duties Include:
  • Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune trees and shrubs, and maintain flower beds.
  • Remove weeds, leaves, and debris from all landscaped and common areas.
  • Perform seasonal maintenance including snow removal, leaf raking, and storm clean-up.
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, snow blowers, etc.).
  • Inspect grounds and report issues with irrigation, drainage, pest control, or safety hazards.
  • Maintain walkways, driveways, and outdoor furniture or structures.
  • Set up outdoor areas for special events, as needed.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of tools, materials, and chemicals in accordance with safety standards.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–2 years of grounds keeping, landscaping, or related experience.
  • Carpentry experience a plus
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping and snow removal equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with basic maintenance tools and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
