Job Description

We have an immediate opening for reliable Licensed Child Care Administrator for a 13 week contract for 8hr day shift at a Residential Treatment Center in Hondo, TX.

  • Shift/Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Rotating Weekends
Duties Include:
  • Directly supervises up to 12 Direct Care Specialists
  • Assists in the planning, organization, and direction of the Educational Services program.
  • Ensures that the General Residential Operations meets all licensing requirements and accreditation guidelines.
  • Supports the Director in developing center staff communication and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Acts as a positive role model in professionalism, manners, language, and tone of voice in order to provide the best example of appropriate behavior for children, parents, staff, and others.
  • Updates and maintains staff files and departmental forms, i.e. enrollment, attendance, lesson plan, etc.
  • Recognizes and make recommendations to the Director regarding the maintenance and improvements of the center and playgrounds necessary for meeting health and safety children care center requirements.
  • Prepares employee performance evaluations and administers to employees with the Program Director.
  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring and orientation process for new employees and volunteers.
  • Prepares work schedules, approves time and attendance and overtime for Direct Care staff.
  • Facilitates monthly staff meetings.
  • Maintains documentation of daily occurrences at the Center regarding the care of the children or employee situations.
  • Explains and demonstrates emergency procedure drills to Direct Care Staff.
  • Coordinates and meets with Children's Case Managers to resolve issues, progress or needs. Provides support and referral services for children in consultation with Case Managers.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Child Care Administrator in Texas, or be eligible for licensing.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent clinical degree
  • Valid TX driver’s license and auto insurance coverage
  • At least 21 years of age          
  • (Preferred) 1-year relevant experience in foster care, child welfare, or adoption
  • (Preferred) Bilingual (English and Spanish based on service area and service population)
