Shift/Hours: 8 hour shifts (Days, Nights)

Duties Include:

• Performs and/or directs nursing procedures, such as administering medications and treatments including oral medication, hypodermic injections, urinary catheterization, enemas, and taking and recording temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration and first aid as authorized within the scope of the Registered Nurse License. Start and monitor IV’s.
• Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in all aspects of the development and implementation of the Individual Habilitation Plan.
• Observes and documents clients’ physical condition and behavior and reports significant changes to appropriate staff.
• Provides one-to-one supervision/direct observation of clients on special precautions, i.e. elopement risks, suicide risks and medical condition and risk of serious self-injurious behavior to client.
• Maintains a safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment which promotes respect and dignity and protects the privacy, rights, confidentiality and physical/emotional well-being of the clients.
• Responds to emergencies that involve use of medical/behavioral intervention techniques.
• Assists, in collaboration with the physician, in determining what, if any, habilitative training should be continued while patient remains on acute unit.
• Escorts clients on the facility grounds and to/from community.
• Prepares psychiatric and physical assessments, performs nursing diagnosis, and health care objectives.
• Assists clients in all activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, dining and leisure activities. These duties also include lifting, positioning and client mobility.
• Attends and participates in training as required.

Requirements

• Associates degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Valid State licensure as an RN.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience
• Current BLS certification.
• COVID VACCINATION is preferred but will accept exemptions
