Overview:
Medical Edge Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract in Ithaca, NY. This vital role involves procuring, preparing, and distributing medications within a hospital environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all safety regulations. Pay Package:
Compensation is offered at $35 per hour for this 13-week contract position, with potential for extension based on performance and needs.
Required Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years old
Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (NHA/PTCB)
Must be a licensed New York State Registered Pharmacy Technician
Ability to procure and distribute medications accurately
Experience with automated medication dispensing units and inventory management
Familiarity with sterile preparation techniques, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy
Proficient in preparing and repackaging medications according to established procedures
Strong organizational skills for maintaining records, records updates, and documentation
Flexibility to assume additional responsibilities as needed
Preferred Education and Experience:
2-3 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
Prior experience with sterile compounding and inventory oversight in a healthcare setting
Other Requirements:
Must pass a criminal record check as mandated by state law
Ability to work 13-hour shifts in a hospital environment
Willingness to adhere to all safety, sterile compounding, and pharmacy protocols
