Job Title
Physiotherapist (Autonomous, Multi-Specialty)

Overview
As an autonomous practitioner and key multi-disciplinary team member, you’ll deliver holistic, goal-oriented physiotherapy care using a patient-centered model. You’ll provide critically reasoned assessments and evidence-based treatment across a wide range of rehabilitation areas—including orthopedics, neurology, cardiac and cardio-respiratory rehabilitation, pain management, women’s health, pediatrics, and more. You’ll help maximize functional recovery through both restorative and preventative approaches, while partnering with physicians, nurses, and Allied Health Professionals to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Required Skills
  • Provide critically reasoned, holistic physiotherapy assessments for inpatients and outpatients with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological, or cardio-respiratory presentations (including physical, psychological, emotional, and social factors)
  • Develop and deliver goal-oriented, evidence-based treatment plans independently and as part of an integrated team
  • Deliver effective and safe patient (and family) education to support management and recovery from injury, illness, or disease
  • Facilitate or contribute to in-service training, supporting the development of non-therapy staff and sharing knowledge where appropriate
  • Manage your own time and caseload, with awareness of service limitations and appropriate referral pathways
  • Demonstrate therapeutic moving and handling skills and provide specialist manual handling advice to staff and families
  • Undertake specialized manual handling risk assessments as required
  • Adhere to departmental and facility-wide policies, procedures, risk assessments, and processes to maintain a safe, high-quality care environment
  • Maintain clear, concise, and timely digital documentation, including (as applicable) initial assessment, re-evaluation, treatment sessions, discharge planning, referrals, and reports
  • Take responsibility for day-to-day equipment and working environment maintenance
  • Maintain infection control practices and complete required training to support patient and colleague safety
  • Complete clinical and non-clinical audit tasks as assigned
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and skills through ongoing learning related to physiotherapy practice within the Hospital
  • Practice in accordance with national laws, regulations, legislative, regulatory, and policy guidelines relevant to physiotherapy scope in the State of Qatar
  • Expertise in assessment of complex presentations within and across MDT settings
  • Expertise in forming and implementing goal-oriented treatment plans
  • Hydrotherapy experience
  • Evidence of appropriate continued professional development
  • Expertise in set up, delivery, and aftercare of manual therapies, movement therapies, and electrotherapy treatments
  • Proficiency in standardized outcome measure testing applicable to the area of work
  • Knowledge of technological and robotic advances in patient treatment and evidence supporting their use
  • Evidence-based practice capability
  • Previous experience working within a multi-disciplinary care team

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field
  • Certificate in any related field
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience
  • Broad post-qualifying experience, preferably across multiple specialties

Other Requirements
  • Hydrotherapy experience is required
  • Continued professional development evidence is required
  • Compliance with local and national requirements for physiotherapy scope of practice in the State of Qatar is required
  • For Qatari Nationals, Qatar university graduates, offspring of Qatari women, or offspring of residents: completion of a one-year supervised training period under a licensed healthcare practitioner is required (refer to DHP Circular No. 24/2020)
  • Adherence to required departmental and facility policies, risk assessments, infection control practices, and documentation standards is required
