Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery - 12 hour days
Job Title:
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (13-Week Contract)
Overview:
Medical Edge Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for an immediate 13-week contract in Chanute, KS. This vital role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to maternal and neonatal care within an acute care setting. Pay Package:
$40 per hour, plus a $1,000 weekly stipend, and $65 per hour overtime.
Required Skills:
Valid Kansas (or compact state) RN license
Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
Ability to monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assess labor progression, and perform cervical checks
Experience in evaluating contraction patterns and documenting labor stages
Competence in responding to obstetric complications such as fetal distress and preeclampsia
Skilled in assisting vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Proficiency in maintaining sterile environments and neonatal resuscitation
Strong collaboration skills with OB/GYNs, midwives, and healthcare team members
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experienced labor and delivery RN with at least 2 years of related clinical practice
Prior experience in acute care settings or hospital labor and delivery units
Other Requirements:
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts
Must possess or be willing to obtain necessary licensure and certifications
No travel restrictions required; candidates should be flexible to adapt to the assignment schedule
