We have an immediate opening for a RN L&D  in Silver Spring, MD
 
Specialty:  Rn L&D
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Hourly Rate: $1800 week
Start Date:  9/19/2025
Assignment Type: 13 weeks
        
Duties Include: 
  • Patient Assessment: Monitoring maternal vital signs, contractions, cervical dilation, and fetal heart rate. 
  • Support & Comfort: Providing emotional support, coaching the mother through labor, and assisting with pain management. 
  • Medication Administration: Administering medications, including pain relief and epidurals. 
  • Assisting with Childbirth: Guiding the mother during pushing, preparing for and assisting with procedures like C-sections, vacuum, or forceps-assisted deliveries. 
  • Procedure Assistance: Placing IV lines and catheters, and preparing surgical tools
  • Maternal Monitoring: Monitoring the mother's recovery after birth for complications. 
  • Newborn Care: Assessing newborns, including determining Apgar scores, and providing immediate care. 
  • Patient Education: 
Educating patients and their families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care, such as breastfeeding. 
  • Documentation: 
Accurately documenting all aspects of the patient's care and progress in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). 
  • Team Collaboration: 
Working closely with doctors, nurse midwives, and other healthcare professionals to implement and evaluate the patient's care plan. 
  • Emergency Response: 
Recognizing and responding to complications and emergencies during labor and delivery. 


 
Requirements: 
  • Current and valid state license
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience 
  • Current AWONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring and BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
