RN (Registered Nurse) - Operating Room | 12 hour days
Overview:
Medical Edge Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse for an immediate 26-week travel assignment in Topeka, KS. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to contribute to acute care settings while experiencing the flexibility and adventure of travel nursing. Pay Package:
$40 per hour plus a $1,200 weekly stipend.
Required Skills:
Current and valid Kansas (or compact state) RN license
Several years of OR experience, with a proven track record in surgical settings
Ability to prepare patients for surgery, including assessments and consent verification
Maintaining sterile fields and strict aseptic techniques during procedures
Assisting surgical teams by passing instruments and supplies as needed
Monitoring vital signs, anesthesia levels, and intraoperative patient status
Documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes comprehensively
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Education and Experience:
Nursing degree from an accredited institution
Extensive OR experience, ideally in acute care environments
Skilled in perioperative patient care, safety protocols, and surgical assistance
Other Requirements:
Must be a seasoned traveler with several years of OR experience
Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts
Criminal record check in accordance with state law
No specific license or certification beyond current licensing and BLS needed, but additional certifications are a plus
Ability to adapt to different hospital settings and work effectively in a team
