Traveler Requirement: Candidates must reside 65 miles or more from the facility to qualify for this travel assignment.
Compensation & Schedule
Weekly Gross Pay:Â $1,978
Hourly Rate: $23/hour
Overtime Rate: $45/hour
Weekly Non-Taxed Stipend: $1,150
Shift: Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
Medical Edge Recruitment is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for an exciting travel opportunity at Ochsner Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center. In this role, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to behavioral health crises
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of practice
Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Experience with electronic charting systems and web-based applications
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN)
Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience
Specialty nursing certification
Additional Requirements
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification within 12 months of hire
Ability to lift, move, and assist patients as required
Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to hazardous medications and waste
No restrictions on nursing license or certifications
