Medical Edge is currently hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RT) on behalf of one of our valued healthcare clients.
As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical situations. Your expertise, compassion, and clinical judgment will help improve patient outcomes and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.

A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:
Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer; performs EKGs and provides tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
Delivers prescribed respiratory therapies while monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient condition and response to treatment.
Responds to codes and emergent calls, assesses patient conditions, and provides appropriate interventions.
Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
Educates patients and families regarding illnesses, treatments, equipment use, and available community resources.
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders while maintaining storage areas and equipment readiness.
Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
Performs responsibilities necessary to meet required service levels.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives and required education.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.
Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in the state of North Carolina.
Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
