Job Description

Medical Edge Recruitment has an immediate opening for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a contract in Iredell, NC.

  • Shift/Hours: 7:20am-2:10pm, Monday-Friday
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and certification in deaf education
  • Minimum 1 years of experience required
Duties Include:
  • Create and implement lesson plans that accommodate the learning needs of students with hearing impairments. This might include modifying general education curriculum or using specialized materials.
  • Work with students, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement IEPs for students with hearing loss. This includes setting specific goals and tailoring educational experiences.
  • Use specialized teaching methods, such as visual aids, sign language, or speech therapy techniques, depending on the student’s individual needs and language preferences.
  • Integrate and manage technology (e.g., hearing aids, FM systems, captioning devices) that can assist students in learning.
  • Support students' language development, including both spoken and sign language, depending on the communication method used.
